Thank you Mappam for allowing me to display your personal and easy to follow tutorial. I am ever so grateful for the submission and are convinced that new beginners will find it very helpful. :)

You will need Transmogrifier and a paint program - see in the link section.

Mappam's Recolor Guide For Dummies

  1. Open up T-mog and find "lamps". In the box at the right, click "Lamp - Table - Cheap".

  2. Click "Clone Object File".

  3. A new window opens. Where it says "New Object File Name" type in a new name. I used "Pamslamp32161" because 32161 is my magic cookie number. If you don't have a magic cookie, click "Get magic cookie"

  4. After you get your magic cookie number, type it in the "Magic Cookie" box.

  5. Your ready to clone! Click "Ok".

  6. A new window opens. It shows you lots of garbage... after it's done, just click "Ok".

  7. Next step is to export. Make sure "pamslamp" is highlighted in the left box. Your file name may differ a little bit.

  8. Click "Export Object File".

  9. A new window opens. Make sure "Just change colors" is checked. You're going to do "One Zoom, One Channel".

  10. Click "Ok". A new window opens. This is asking you were you want to save the xml file. You can save it anywhere you want, as long as you remember where it is. To be safe, you can save it to your desktop. A folder and an .xml file will appear where you saved it.

  11. After you save it, click "Ok" after all the garabage rolls by.

  12. Ok, you're ready to change the color of the lamp! You can close T-mog or just let it minimize. Open your paint program and browse to where you saved the object. Find the folder called "pamslamp" (or derivitive) and you will find another folder in that one.

  13. Open the "sprite 0400" folder. You will find a btmp in it. This is the lamp off. Open the btmp.

  14. You're on your way! Find your hue function in your paint prog and use it to change the color of the lamp. It's OK that the yellow background changes color, it will be fine. After you find a color that you like, take note of what color it is (if possible, write the number so you can remember it - this is important!).

  15. Save the btmp (overwrite the old one).

  16. Open the "sprite 0401" folder and open the btmp inside. This is the lamp on. Open the btmp.

  17. Change the hue to exactly what you made the other one (use the number that you wrote down). Save the changes, overwriting the old lamp on btmp.

  18. You're done recoloring! You can close your paint prog. Open or maximize T-mog. Find "pamslamp" and make sure it's highlighted in the left part of T-mog. Click "Import Object File".

  19. A new window opens. Browse to where you saved the object in the first place, then click "Open". Click "Ok" after some more garable rumbles by.

  20. OMG, you just recolored an object!! Check it out in T-mog and in your game :) You can change the in-game description by clicking "Edit Object".

All the downloads on this site is made with self-extracting exe.files, this mean that you do not need a zip - program to unzip them.

OBS! For å unngå mailer fra engelske brukere har jeg benyttet 'Program Files' i self-extracting linken, bytt det ut med 'Programfiler' før du klikker ok så legger objektet som du har lastet ned seg i riktig folder. :)

Please do not take any of the downloads and put on another site.
